And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil.

And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.

And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters; and she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.

The Book of Mormon, The First Book of Nephi 14:10

In summary

And he said unto me: Behold, there are many systems of belief, except they all derive their significance from one of two networks. If we don’t choose our network to have the people of Lamb of God, we are left to partnerships that incentivize hatred, which are seen as great; through employ, they provide indiscriminate idol worship or adoration to prop up those in power over all the earth peoples. A Materialist Translation of 1 Nephi 14:10

It is essential to understand who and what motivates our actions. Our motivation should be caring and loving for the Lamb of God’s people. Not seek to maintain power and hierarchy using adoration. We seek to empower the body of the Lamb of God, not ourselves or our friends. It is the motivation of our actions that helps us understand our networks. We look to people’s hearts (often difficult to discern), not their social cues, to understand their essence. If we look at people’s actions alone, the two networks overlap heavily.

Idealist

  • save two churches only: There are two arguments for truth.
  • belongeth not … belongeth to: We hold to truths from God’s church or we are in the World’s church.
  • the whore of all the earth: Evil orginizations that oppose the work of God.

In summary

We see the world composed of two categories - 1) The good that are the of the Lamb of God and 2) the bad who are the whores of the devil. The boundary is black and white. The only reason there is a grey zone is because we misunderstand truth or we are not paying attention to the details. There are clear boundaries that signal which group we sustain.
